Spain: Attendance at La Liga stadiums in the 2024/25 season Attendance at La Liga stadiums this season once again broke all records. Most fans came to the Santiago Bernabéu, but it was Barcelona's temporary stadium that was most full. The stadiums of Espanyol, Las Palmas and Getafe were regularly empty.

Real and Leganés at the antipodes of attendances

30,015 - that's how many fans on average turned up for La Liga matches in the 2024/25 season. Added up with the second tier results, the figures give a total of 17,284,375 spectators, up 9% on the 23/24 season and the most since La Liga measures this data.

The biggest crowds were gathered at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu, as their matches were watched from the stands by 72,692 fans. It was Los Blancos' temple that holds the attendance record of the season, although on that day the club's supporters had no reason to be happy. We are talking, of course, about the match that ended 0:4 against Barcelona. Madris's embarrassment was witnessed live by 78,192 fans that night.

Next on the list is Atlético, whose matches were attended by 60,883 fans. There were 51,542 of them at Betis' matches and on Athletic Bilbao's games - 48,420. FC Barcelona gathered at the olympic stadium on Montjuic 45,953 Culés.

The worst performers in this statistic are Girona, Getafe and Leganés, although in the case of the last team this is due to stadium capacity. However, the Catalan team, despite playing in the Champions League, performed poorly all season and discouraged a large part of the public, with an average of 11,657 fans attending Blanc-i-vermells matches. Getafe's clashes at the Coliseum, on the other hand, were watched by 11,469 spectators, and it was at the Azulones game that the lowest attendance of the season was recorded - 7559 fans on a December Monday against Espanyol. Leganes matches were attended by 11,135 Pepineros.

Barça wins the battle of the percentages

However, if attendance were to be judged by the percentage of stadium fill, Barça would take first place with a score of 92.9%. Just behind the Blaugrana team would be Real Madrid with a score of 92.8%, and behind the two eternal rivals Athletic Bilbao (91.4%) would come along with Celta Vigo (90.9%) and Rayo Vallecano (87.6%).

The most empty stands were seen at Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium (64.1%), Getafe’s Coliseum (70.6%), UD Las Palmas’ Estadio Gran Canaria (71%) and Mallorca's Son Moix (71.1%). Despite this, both the Coliseum and Estadio Gran Canaria are to be rebuilt, and their capacity - increased.
