RSC Anderlecht is laying the groundwork for a new, modern stadium that would replace the historic Lotto Park — in continuous use since 1917. The current venue holds around 20,000 spectators, but the demand keeps growing. The waiting list for seats has already reached 4,500 names.

A key move, but no rush
Club president Wouter Vandenhaute told Belgian media that Anderlecht wants to grow and needs a larger, more functional infrastructure to do so. While no final decisions have been made regarding location or cost, one option being considered is the site of the Cora shopping center, scheduled to close in 2026.
The plan is to build a multi-use venue — not just for Anderlecht matches but potentially also for the Belgian national team. The current national stadium, Stade Roi Baudouin, is widely seen as outdated. According to outlets like Het Nieuwsblad and La Dernière Heure, Anderlecht is aiming for a major upgrade — ideally a stadium with at least double the current capacity, with the dream figure floating around 50,000 seats.
While no budget has been disclosed, the club has emphasized that funding would come from outside investors. The project isn't urgent, but it's clearly a strategic step in Anderlecht's long-term development plan.
