Something new at Estadi Son Moix

Since a few days Estadi Mallorca Son Moix is home to a fan zone located at the top of the south stand, which is usually occupied by the most ardent fans from the L'Infern 1916 (Inferno 1916) sector. The space, called Plaza Fondo Sur, offers fans deckchairs, benches and tables with great views of the pitch, as well as a bar where drinks and food can be ordered.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Friday April 25, with attractions - football games and inflatables - and the club's mascot himself, Dimonío, awaiting the youngest fans. Alfonso Diaz, business director of RCD Mallorca, also attended the opening of the Plaza Fondo Sur, as did representatives of the local authorities.

Entry to Plaza Fondo Sur is completely free and there are no reservations. In weeks without matches at Son Moix, Plaza Fondo Sur will be open on Fridays from 17:00 to 21:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 to 14:30. However, when RCD Mallorca play at the stadium, the opening hours (and days) will be different: on Thursdays and Fridays from 17:00 to 20:30.

The club's aim is to bring fans closer to the stadium, which already has a much better reputation than it once did. It's all thanks to the 2022-24 redevelopment. For €30M the club managed to bring the stands closer to the pitch and increase the capacity from 20,500 to 26,020 seats. Our readers awarded this redevelopment 14th place in the last edition of our Stadium of the Year contest.
