A major step forward for County Louth

This is a historic day for all GAA players in County Louth, said Séan McClean, Chairperson of Louth GAA. After years of planning and preparation, we are delighted to have secured the necessary funding to begin construction on this state-of-the-art facility. We extend our sincere thanks to GAA Headquarters and all of our clubs within Louth GAA for their unwavering support in making this project a reality.

Currently, all sports development in County Louth is centered around DEFY Páirc Mhuire, a stadium in Ardee. This is the primary venue for Ardee St. Mary’s GAA – a club that competes in both football and hurling. The stadium also hosts Louth county team matches in the Allianz Football League. In February 2023, Ardee St. Mary’s announced a partnership with local company DEFY, which specializes in sportswear production. As part of this collaboration, the stadium was renamed DEFY Páirc Mhuire, aiming to provide financial support to the club and promote local business. It’s also worth noting that DEFY is based in Ardee, further strengthening the bond between the club and the local community. The venue is used not only for football and hurling matches but also for organizing community and sports events.
