Spain: Guns, a helicopter and suitcases full of money - Spanish mafia at Anoeta Real Sociedad's stadium is regularly the arena for football clashes and has also sometimes been the scene of rugby duels, but last weekend Anoeta turned into a meeting place for members of the Spanish mafia.

Black humour lands at the Anoeta

A rapid helicopter landing, an exchange of suitcases stuffed with money and a quick escape. The scene was, of course, an element of a film set, but that did not take away from its spectacularity. The film crew of Arantxa Echevarría - a well-known Spanish director - arrived, or even landed at Anoeta on Monday to shoot a black comedy titled Cada día nace un listo (Spanish for Every day a wanker is born).

The director, quoted by EFE, appreciates San Sebastián. It's a very friendly city, it's a pleasure to visit, there's the sea, the mountains..., she says.

Why Anoeta?

We’d like to know that ourselves. Unfortunately, Real Sociedad hasn’t specified why this particular stadium was chosen. However, the club has shared a synopsis of the film:

Toni Lomas rose to fame when he took part in a successful talent show. Now he doesn't even have anywhere else to go. His situation changes when Malena, a former love, puts him in touch with Junior, the son of a rich businessman, in order to steal a valuable painting from his family home. To carry out the heist, Toni enlists two allies: Mari and Gallego, forming a team in which everyone fights for their own interests.
