New agreement signed
A group of Compromís councilors presented a proposal demanding that Mayor María José Catalá immediately sign a new agreement with the club to guarantee the city's interests. Despite opposition votes from VOX and PP, the proposal was approved thanks to the support of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) and the abstention of councilors Badenas and Herrero. With the approval of this resolution, the City Council is now committed to drafting and signing a new agreement regarding the stadium's construction.
Valencia CF required to provide progress reports
The PSOE also presented a resolution demanding that Valencia CF provide monthly certificates regarding the progress of the construction and submit to municipal inspections to ensure that the project is proceeding as planned. This resolution, which received support from all political groups, was also approved by the City Council.
Valencia CF's Commitment and Collaboration with the City Council
At the same time, Valencia CF has expressed its willingness to maintain the agreement made during the tenure of Joan Ribó and Sandra Gómez, in which the club committed to allowing part of Nou Mestalla, including the athletics track, to be used for important sporting events such as the European Championships or the World Cup.
