Lugo prepares for renovation work

The modernization project for Anxo Carro, valued at €3.8 million, will be carried out in several phases and is scheduled for completion before the 2026/2027 season. Additionally, the renovation is part of an agreement extending CD Lugo’s stadium management concession for another 30 years, ensuring the club’s stability and long-term development. Construction is set to begin this summer.

Estadio Anxo Carro was inaugurated on August 31, 1974, with an initial capacity of 5,000 spectators. Following CD Lugo’s second promotion to Segunda División and its consolidation in the category, the stadium was expanded with a new stand, increasing its capacity to 8,168 seats through an agreement between the club and a local entrepreneur. At the start of the 2015/16 season, minor modernization efforts took place, including the replacement of seats in the north, east, and west sections. After the last renovation of the south stand in 2019, the stadium’s total seating capacity was reduced to 7,070.
