A few weeks of work remain
The works began in July 2023 and have faced many challenges along the way. Changes had to be introduced to the project documentation to ensure that the stadium met UEFA criteria, which will allow it to host international sporting events at the highest level. Despite these difficulties, construction has not been halted, and all those involved are working with full dedication to meet the established schedule.
The stadium is set to be completed in March, and by June, it will become one of the venues for the prestigious UEFA U-21 European Championship. However, some residents of Prešov remain skeptical about whether the work will be finished on time and if the venue will indeed be ready to host the tournament. The city's authorities, however, hold a different view. Councilor Marek Hrabčák recently posted a video on social media with the caption: We will make it!
assuring residents that the stadium's construction will be completed as planned.
As city spokesperson Michal Hudák informed a few days ago, the main work is currently taking place inside the main building, where wall cladding, flooring, door frames, doors, suspended ceilings, plastering, painting, as well as the installation of lighting, radiators, and finishing elements like sanitary equipment are being completed. Work continues on the implementation of the so-called operational systems, including the installation of fire protection, security, and information and communication systems.
