The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Federal Minister for Interior, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, for overseeing the stadium’s construction. He congratulated all members of the PCB team and ordered that all individuals involved in this important achievement be rewarded. He noted that after Shehbaz Speed, it was now time for Mohsin Speed. He also praised the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) for its role in the stadium's development.

The renovation plan included building a new pavilion building, reshaping all the general fencing, moving the stands 20 feet closer to the playing area, removing the fencing around the stands in favor of a moat, increasing the seating capacity from 21,500 to 34,000 spectators, installing new replay screens, replacing existing floodlights with LED lights, and constructing a new PCB headquarters.

The project was initially scheduled for completion by December 25, 2024, but this deadline was extended by a month due to some minor unfinished work.
