The most urgent issues have been solved

In December and January, technical meetings took place continuously, with representatives from the City of Rome and the club. New solutions are on the table to enable 50% of fans to reach the stadium using public transport, as well as addressing parking issues and the integration of the stadium with its surroundings, including the Pertini Hospital on Via dei Monti Tiburtini. There are no concerns regarding the urban forest, which had prompted an investigation by the prosecutor’s office following complaints from committees opposing the stadium's construction. The City of Rome has repeatedly emphasized, both officially and unofficially, that the work has been carried out according to the law, and the forest is not an obstacle.

The stadium project is already waiting for its new boss

Everything is thus ready, or almost ready, as the newly appointed General Director of AS Roma, Alessandro Antonello, will soon take charge of the stadium project in Pietralata. The billion-euro facility is an impressive structure with classical shapes, referencing Roman architecture, with colonnades guiding fans inside the stadium. Externally, the facade will be covered with hundreds of vertical slats, and inside, there will be space for 60,000 spectators.

The positive progress of the process was also confirmed by FIFA President Gianni Infantino: The new AS Roma stadium in 2028? Yes, I heard they will be playing in a new, spectacular stadium in Pietralata. [...] A country like Italy must have stadiums of the highest level. They must be a source of pride for the cities, a reference point for everyone. I’m told that a lot is already happening, and at a fast pace.
