Optus Stadium has earned the top honor for the fifth consecutive year. Located in the Burswood district of Perth, the stadium once again claimed first place in the Austadium Awards, a nationwide poll of Australia's best venues, securing 45% of the votes.

Perth's jewel dominates

Optus Stadium ranked first, surpassing the Melbourne Cricket Ground (14%) and Suncorp Stadium (12%), with 43% of the votes coming from Western Australia. Western Australian venues dominated the awards, claiming four of the six categories. The Perth venue was also named Australia's Best Oval Stadium, ahead of the MCG and Adelaide Oval, receiving 50% of the votes.

Optus Stadium’s busy 2025 schedule

In addition to home games for the Perth Scorchers, Fremantle Dockers, and West Coast Eagles, Optus Stadium has also been chosen to host the Indigenous All Stars game in February. State of Origin Game II will be held in June, with two additional NRL games heading west in April. In June, the Socceroos will play a 2026 World Cup Qualifier in Perth, followed by the British and Irish Lions tour later that month.

In October, the Wallabies will face the All Blacks in a Bledisloe Cup clash, and in November, Optus Stadium will be one of the stops on Metallica’s tour. The 2024-2025 Ashes series will kick off in late November, with Perth hosting the opening summer Test, known as The West Test. With all these prestigious events, Optus Stadium will be a key venue in 2025, offering a wide range of sporting and entertainment events for fans.

How did the winners shape up in other categories?

Among other honorees, HBF Park was named the Best Rectangle Stadium (30%), ahead of Suncorp Stadium and AAMI Park, while RAC Arena was recognized as Australia’s Best Indoor Arena, with 47% of the votes, surpassing Rod Laver Arena.

GMHBA Stadium in Geelong was named the Best Regional Stadium in the country, ahead of Queensland Country Bank Stadium and Sunshine Coast Stadium. Meanwhile, the title of Most Picturesque Stadium went to Adelaide Oval, which received 36% of the votes, while Optus Stadium placed third in this category.
