Spain: Preparations begin to resume construction of Nou Mestalla Preliminary work to resume construction on the Nou Mestalla has begun. This was confirmed by El Desmarque after receiving a video from a reader showing workers using pneumatic hammers, visible and audible through one of the side doors of the unfinished structure.

Returning after nearly 16 years and racing against time

It appears that Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC), the company tasked with completing the Nou Mestalla, as announced by Layhoon Chan, is preparing signage and access points to officially restart work on January 10. On this date, the club plans to reveal more details about the final design and the schedule for completion of the project, which has been stalled for nearly 16 years.

Starting January 10, Valencia CF will have 30 months to complete the work, as stipulated by the strict construction permits issued by the city council on July 12 last year. Once construction resumes, with the tangible support of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Valencia will continue its bid to become one of the host cities for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. As recently stated by President Rafael Louzán, it would be illogical for such a city not to be included among the hosts.
