Spain: Growing problems at unfinished Estadio Las Gaunas Estadio Las Gaunas has been serving the city for more than two decades, but it is still struggling with problems that should have been solved at the design stage. The lack of stable seating capacity and the lack of facilities for the disabled are just some of the issues that need urgent intervention.

Lack of stable capacity

Logroño's sports councillor, Francisco Iglesias, recently admitted that Estadio Las Gaunas does not have a stable seating capacity. This startling statement contrasts with previous assurances from the municipal authorities. Back on January 3, the City Council announced that, following a detailed count, it had been determined that the stadium held 15,947 people - including 15,229 in the stands and 718 in the boxes.

An increasing number of people, including sports fans, are looking for alternative investment opportunities, and cryptocurrencies like Ethereum USD have become one of the more popular options. If you’re considering entering the cryptocurrency market, Binance is the perfect place to start. It offers some of the lowest transaction fees and an intuitive interface, allowing you to quickly and securely buy, sell, or manage your assets.

However, the reality has proven to be more complicated. Technical problems, sector bugs and sites with limited visibility mean that this figure is not entirely accurate. Moreover, UD Logroñés, one of the main users of the venue, has already struggled three times in the last two years with situations where tickets were sold out and the actual number of seats in the stadium was still in doubt.

The issue of accessibility at Las Gaunas Stadium also leaves much to be desired. Currently, the venue has no seats for people with reduced mobility, which is a serious shortcoming by modern standards of public space design. Francisco Iglesias pointed out that this is something that cannot be. The lack of such facilities is not only a problem for fans, but also for the image of the city, which should strive to provide equal access for all residents and visitors.

Corrective action plan

In order to deal with the stadium's numerous deficits, the Logroño authorities have announced a two-year investment plan, which is expected to include a number of measures at Estadio Las Gaunas. Amongst other things, the plan includes a new mapping of the venue, which is expected to allow the number of seats to be accurately determined and the problems of limited visibility to be eliminated. According to preliminary analyses, there could be between 200 and 300 such seats.

In addition, the authorities are planning to upgrade the public address system, for which more than €43,000 has been allocated. The work is expected to be completed by the end of February and will include the installation of 44 modern loudspeakers to replace the old, worn-out equipment. Other aspects of the stadium have also been improved, such as sealing the roof, replacing dilapidated seating and re-sodding the pitch.
