El Sardinero opens up to commercialisation

During the Annual General Meeting, President Higuera explained that the commercialisation process is already well advanced. Of course, the name of the stadium is a right that Racing has already acquired by contract - it refers to the annex to the stadium use agreement that was signed with the city council - and we are working on that. It's a very important source of income that we are putting a lot of resources into and we need to find a sponsor who is really interested - emphasises the chairman. Racing hopes that the finalisation of this decision will come sooner than initially expected.

The fans are anticipating the progress at the stadium, but many of them are also looking for alternative activities at their fingertips, so that they don't even have to go outside. Increasingly popular around the world are online casinos with cryptocurrencies and crypto sports betting such as Bety, where you can find the best bonuses for new players and convenient payment methods.

Currently, only a handful of stadiums in the Spanish second division have commercial renaming rights. This distinction could become a key element of the club's development strategy, ensuring its financial stability.

New seats for fans

As part of further investment, El Sardinero stadium will expand by 790 seats. The project involves reclaiming the last rows of seats on the four upper levels of the stands: south, north, east and west (Tribuna Sur, Tribuna Norte, Tribuna Este and Tribuna Oeste). The increase in capacity to 22,308 seats is in response to growing demand from fans and high ticket demand.

However, the new seats will not be open to the general public. Priority will be given to seasonticket holders, who were able to retain their privileges before January 11, 2025. The booking process for this group began on Monday, January 13, and continued until Friday, 17 January. Reservations were only accepted at the stadium ticket offices. The remaining seats will go on open sale on January 20.

Interest in new seats exceeds expectations

On the first day of the opening of the stadium box offices at Campos de Sport, Racing fans treated themselves to the sight of crowded queues. Despite the cold weather, reaching just four degrees Celsius, numerous fans arrived early in the morning to book their new seats.

The queues in front of the ticket offices are the result of high interest in the LaLiga Hypermotion match between Racing Santander and Racing de Ferrol, scheduled for Sunday,January 19. Among the tickets on offer for the event are adult tickets priced from €20 and half-price concession tickets for younger fans.

What does Racing Santander stadium look like?

The stadium has a typically footballing, rectangular layout, with stands surrounding the pitch on all sides. The stands are covered, although the roof does not cover the first rows of spectators. The main stand is located on the west side. It is slightly higher than the others and has a clear division into two tiers, which are separated by a strip of skyboxes. There are four lighting masts in the corners of the stadium. The capacity of the venue is 22,222 spectators, which will only now be fully utilised.
