Optimism, but the club is exploring different scenarios
Currently, this is the most realistic scenario being worked on by the club — this is what those responsible for the massive investment have confirmed. Today, a board meeting will take place to discuss various matters, including this one, although a final decision is not expected yet.
The club assumes that fans will accept any inconveniences related to returning to the stadium while construction is still ongoing, if the reward is the chance to watch the Barça vs Real Madrid match at Spotify Camp Nou. However, considering potential uncertainties, the club is not ruling out other scenarios and is beginning to explore alternatives to ensure they are prepared with adequate plans in advance.
Could it be Wembley?
According to El Desmarque, Barcelona’s backup plan is to host the match at one of Europe’s major stadiums, each capable of holding around 80,000 spectators and generating significant financial revenue.
The potential locations under consideration include: San Siro, Stade de France, Wembley Stadium, Stadio Olimpico, and Signal Iduna Park. However, as confirmed by Javier Tebas, it is Real Madrid that has the final say if the match is to be played outside Spain. If Los Blancos
refuse, Barcelona will need to find an alternative solution that will satisfy their eternal rivals.
