Como stadium in animated vision
Lake Como has been known as the setting for Hollywood productions and iconic cinematography for decades. Now, however, it has become the star of an animated cartoon. The Indonesian company Rus Animation, which created the project in collaboration with a group of 265 students from Java, is responsible for the production . In classic oriental style, it tells the story of a girl named Nyla who follows her dream of becoming a professional footballer. However, for fans of Como 1907, a surprise lurks at the end of the story.
Titled Nyla,
the animation hides a bonus sequence that resembles the style of the closing scenes from Marvel films. After the closing credits, viewers can see a visualisation of Como's modern stadium. The stadium is distinguished by its square structure and adjacent lounge area, all harmoniously integrated into the picturesque surroundings of Lake Como. The view also includes the Canottieri Lario, the Yacht Club, the war memorial and the lakeside gardens.
As if that wasn't enough, the cartoon features well-known guests. Hugh Grant and Taylor Swift can be spotted in the stands of the stadium, a reference to the stars‘ recent visits to the real Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
The stadium shown at the end of the presentation sparked a wave of comments among fans
Real project or imagination?
The club's president, Mirwan Suwarso, shared the animation on social media, sparking a wave of speculation. Suwarso was quick to deny that the stadium seen in the cartoon was related to the planned project. However, his enigmatic response leaves room for interpretation: No, it is not our stadium project
- he said with a wink.
According to Provincia di Como, the design for the new stadium was prepared by the renowned architectural firm Populous and presented to the city authorities. So far, however, it has not been presented to the wider public. Despite the lack of details, fans' imaginations are fired up and the Nyla
animation has only added fuel to the fire.
The animation took over a year to produce and aimed to promote women's football. The project was supported by the Hartono family, the Indonesian owners of Como 1907, who never cease to amaze with their ideas. The cartoon became a viral hit on social media, attracting the attention of not only football fans, but also animation enthusiasts and local architecture lovers.
