Purple owner ready for big investment
Rocco Commisso, owner of Fiorentina, expresses his readiness to make a significant investment at Stadio Artemio Franchi. The plan is to invest around €100 million in exchange for a concession to manage the facility for a minimum of 50 years. According to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Commisso is determined to take full control of the stadium, which is currently being upgraded with public funds.
The modernisation work currently underway is being financed with public funds, but Rocco Commisso sees the potential to transform the venue into a modern sports and commercial complex. His plan includes two key areas of investment.
Commisso plans to spend €55m to complete the work that has already begun, such as the installation of a canopy over the stands and the reprofiling of the seats in the Marathon section. A further €50m is to be invested by Fiorentina's owner in the development of commercial infrastructure. Plans include the creation of exclusive VIP areas, restaurants, shops and other spaces that will attract Viola fans, but also customers interested in a modern entertainment and business centre.

Long-term concession as key to success
Commisso has made no secret of the fact that his actions are aimed at developing the stadium, but also at increasing the value of the club itself. According to his vision, the Franchi, managed under a long-term concession, could become an important financial asset, comparable to the recently opened Viola Park, Fiorentina's modern training centre.
For Commisso, a key condition for the investment is to obtain a 50-year concession. Shorter management periods are not acceptable to him, as they do not guarantee stability and the possibility of long-term planning. The purple patron makes it clear that only a long-term partnership will allow the ambitious plans to be fully realised.
