Paris FC is in negotiations with Stade Français over the potential use of Stade Jean Bouin for the upcoming season. Although discussions have been ongoing for some time, there are still some hurdles to overcome before Paris FC can temporarily call this venue home.

Key challenges remain to be solved
We’re negotiating. I think we’ll reach an agreement in February. There are economic factors at play, but more importantly, it’s about coordinating with Stade Français, which currently resides at Jean Bouin, and managing the proximity to PSG’s Parc des Princes,
explained Paris FC president Pierre Ferracci in an interview with AFP. Handling the calendars of Ligue 1, Top 14, and the logistical challenges this creates—like traffic between Jean Bouin and Parc des Princes—is no small task. Then there are issues related to identity, colors, and event organization for all involved. It’s complicated, but I think we’ll find common ground because it benefits both parties.
On the organizational and security front, much work remains, particularly around aligning the schedules of the three clubs: Stade Français (Top 14), PSG (Ligue 1), and Paris FC (Ligue 2 or possibly Ligue 1). The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) and Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) have sent a joint letter to the police prefecture to coordinate with local authorities on security measures and matchday logistics.

What commitments will Paris FC make?
Finalizing the contract between Paris FC and Stade Français remains a priority. Paris FC, currently third in Ligue 2, will need to pay a significant rental fee to Stade Français to offset potential revenue losses. Additionally, Paris FC will cover the cost of replacing the synthetic turf at Jean Bouin with a hybrid surface. In return, the club wants guarantees for optimal use of the facility. Stade Français, which has exclusive rights to Stade Jean Bouin until 2029, seeks assurances such as an extension of its agreement or a commitment that Paris FC won’t attempt to take over as the primary tenant in the future.

Hoping for a quick return to Charléty
For now, Paris FC views Jean Bouin as a temporary solution and remains focused on eventually returning to an upgraded Stade Sébastien Charléty. I’ve always said that if we move to Jean Bouin, it’s with the intention of going back to Charléty, which currently doesn’t meet the standards of a modern football club,
Ferracci clarified. We want to carry out renovations there while respecting the needs of PUC, which uses the venue for a variety of sports. Our goal is to turn Charléty into the heart of the club’s growth.
