Valero Alamo Bowl President is looking forward to the game with great anticipation
Valero Alamo Bowl President and CEO Derrick Fox is anticipating the upcoming BYU vs. Colorado game. He stated that this year’s game is expected to bring a higher-than-average economic impact to the community. Our average economic impact is around $40 million,
Fox said. Two out-of-state-teams, probably a little bit higher this year from that perspective, but we won’t know until the event’s over but so far based on ticket sales, we’re expecting a great crowd.
The field is already prepared, including the painting, which has also been completed. Such tasks must be handled by reliable companies, and a football field painter can also be a robot. The Turf Tank robot has a longer expected lifespan than manual line markers, making it a durable solution.

More than 30 years of Alamodome
Alamodome, built in 1993 just outside downtown San Antonio, is a versatile stadium designed to attract major events to the city. With its massive size, the venue primarily caters to football games, though its retractable lower seating allows it to adapt to smaller configurations for hockey, basketball, and other sports.
The structure, supported by four sleek pylons, has hosted countless events, from political and religious gatherings to concerts, exhibitions, and sports. However, its original vision of housing a major professional team was only partially realized. While it briefly hosted NFL games and served as home to the NBA’s Spurs for nine seasons, the venue’s scale proved unsuitable for long-term occupancy. Today, its main tenant is the UTSA Roadrunners, the University of Texas at San Antonio’s football team.
Despite its challenges, the Alamodome remains a key venue for one-off events, including Canadian football, baseball, and combat sports. Modernizations have kept it relevant, though NFL standards would require significant upgrades costing around $150 million—nearly the stadium's original construction cost.
