Despite the fact that there is still a lot of work to be done in the Fondo Sur and around the stadium, Real Madrid has left some important indications between the lines that allow us to foresee when the club will officially inaugurate the new Bernabeu. The club also made it public that the price of the works has gone up once again.

More income, but more costs
Prior to the General Assembly, the club published a statement reviewing the financial situation after the 2023/24 season. Operating income, for the first time in the history of soccer, exceeded the €1 billion barrier. Specifically, the club reached €1.073b, a historical and world record.
A large part of this amount is due to the operation of the Bernabéu, which generated around €275 m in operating income, another important figure. To date, Madrid had never earned more than €180 m from its stadium, a number it reached in the 2017/18 and 2019/19 seasons. The increase is due to the increase in capacity, commerce in the stadium and events organized in it.
The increase in income, both from the stadium and in general, has allowed the club not to lose financial stability, as the costs of remodeling the Bernabéu have risen once again: €1.163b in investment, out of which €1.155b came from loans.

The inauguration of the Bernabéu, closer to completion
There is still a lot of finishing work to be done on the new Santiago Bernabéu. The lettering on the façade, the stadium's surroundings, the bathrooms, covering pipes and painting walls in the south end of the stadium... But Real Madrid is confident that the work will not take too long.
In the statement, the club has stressed that the current season will be the last with the Bernabéu under construction, which will be completed in the 2024/25 financial year, bringing the renovation project to a close
, causing further significant growth
and the amortisation of the investment.
The club seems very convinced with the works finishing before the summer of 2025, as it has remarked up to five times this information. The conflict with the neighbors and the potential soundproofing of the Bernabéu remains to be resolved, but this does not seem to be a big problem for the club, as Florentino Peréz assured that the income from concerts does not form more than 1% of the club's income. It seems that the inauguration is closer than farther.
