Barça demands payment of fines
Last season, Barcelona received €21,000 in fines from La Liga and UEFA for offensive chants heard both at home and away games. The club has transferred this penalty to the four mentioned fan groups, giving them 15 days to settle the payment, and the deadline has not yet come. FC Barcelona has warned that it will close some sectors during matches if further fines are imposed by the federation.
This warning came before the derby match against Espanyol, held on November 3 at Estadi Lluís Companys. The day before, a banner reading, 124 years of making a fool of yourself,
was visible on the RCDE Stadium’s facade. While this banner was unsigned by any Barça fan group, it was not the only one. Two more banners appeared along the Ronda de Dalt highway with messages: Miserable Minority
and Barcelona anti-Perico.

Fans protest and reject accusations
In protest, Grada d'Animació fans refrained from cheering for the first 15 minutes of the Barcelona derby. This action was a response to Joan Laporta’s demand for covering the cost of the fines. The Almogàvers, Nostra Ensenya, Front 532, and Supporters Barça groups maintain that they always condemn violence and argue that the offensive remarks were never collective but rather the actions of isolated individuals.
