"Celebrate Christmas skating on ice at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano!", Atlético de Madrid invites locals and tourists. In collaboration with Madrid on Ice, the Metropolitano will forget about soccer for two weeks to celebrate Christmas with a huge and spectacular ice rink.

Ice-skating instead of football

A unique premiere for a very special time of the year. The home of Atlético de Madrid will host Madrid on Ice, turning itself from December 21 to January 5 into one of the largest skating rinks in Europe, with an area of 4,760 m² and capacity for 1,500 skaters.

The rink will be in the shape of a track, and according to images released by the club and Madrid on Ice, it will surround the pitch, being at the height of the second level of the stands, several meters above the turf.

Madrid on Ice also promises various activities, including shows, workshops, light games on ice and many surprises. There will also be stalls with typical Christmas sweets. The price of a ticket, which includes skate rental, is €20.

Increased seating capacity in the VIP area

The club has also announced that it has completed a capacity increase, carried out through the creation of two new Skyboxes, extensions in some VIP lounges and platforms for people with disabilities. This has added 232 more seats, bringing the Metropolitano's new capacity to 70,692 spectators. The new seats will be available for the match against Alavés (Saturday, 16:15).
