A public tender for the renovation of Meazza Stadium and the redevelopment of its surrounding area, led by the Municipality of Milan, while keeping the property under municipal ownership. This is the goal set out in a political resolution that Enrico Fedrighini plans to present to the city council.

San Siro is a crucial venue for Milanese sports
The aim is to resolve the complexities surrounding San Siro's future after the idea of AC Milan and Inter purchasing and renovating the stadium faded away. In Fedrighini’s draft resolution, it is noted that the facility is in excellent condition,
having hosted the UEFA Champions League final in 2016 and set to host the opening ceremony of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic Games. Furthermore, the revenue generated by Meazza—under concession to both Milanese clubs until 2030—helps fund a substantial portion of the city's primary sports activities.
In challenging times, this treasure
is hard to relinquish. Decisions about the future of the property and the municipal area, which holds historical and strategic value for Milan, cannot be dictated solely by the goals of financial corporations currently controlling Inter and Milan," says Fedrighini. "This decision is and must remain within the prerogative of the city's democratic and representative institutions.
