At the end of October, Ostrava city councilors approved the preparation of an architectural competition for a new stadium for Baník Ostrava. According to Deník, proposals are expected from four leading global architectural firms: Fenwick Iribarren Architects, gmp Architekten, IDOM, and Populous.

A state-of-the-art arena for 20,000 spectators
If everything goes smoothly, we plan to announce the architectural competition by the end of November,
Lukáš Semerák told Moravskoslezský Deník. Ostrava is set to host a modern arena not only for Baník’s matches but also for Czech national team games. The competition specifications set a maximum budget of CZK 2.5 billion (approximately €98.6 million) for a stadium with a capacity of 19,500 to 20,000 spectators. We based this on a price per seat estimated by architects at around €4,000–€5,000
, revealed Semerák. He added that the stadium would likely be the most advanced football facility in the Czech Republic.
While awaiting the construction of a new stadium for Baník Ostrava, fans often focus on other online activities, such as computer games. One area that might interest enthusiasts of this form of entertainment is the CSGO spray pattern guide, which analyzes the spray patterns of all weapons in Counter-Strike 2. This guide can help players improve their shooting accuracy by understanding the behavior of each weapon’s spray, an essential skill for competitive gameplay in CSGO.
We face a challenge since there’s little domestic inspiration. The only new arena in the Czech Republic is the Stadion Hradec Králové, but it’s not very comfortable. We know some plans there were scaled back for economic reasons. The next candidate is Fortuna Arena, but it’s already 17 years old,
Semerák said. Discussions about the new stadium’s design took nearly six months. The owner of Baník initially insisted that the team not play in an athletics stadium but later pushed for higher capacity. From our perspective, the final capacity is neither excessive nor insufficient, even for international matches,
Semerák concluded.

Nové Bazaly 2029?
Bazaly is a historic stadium for Baník, where the club achieved its greatest successes. It currently serves as a training center, with the team playing its matches at the Vítkovice Arena. However, many signs suggest that the Chachaři may soon return to their home stadium. Architect Dawid Kotek recently created a visualization of the proposed stadium for Baník Ostrava, though city officials clarified it was an unofficial concept without consultation. We had hoped to open the new stadium for the 2028/2029 season, but this seems unlikely. A 2029 opening appears far more realistic,
Semerák disclosed.
Moving out of Vítkovice
Vítkovice Arena was built in the summer of 1938 and has since served as Ostrava's premier athletics stadium. Baník became a permanent tenant starting in the 2015/16 season, thanks to a major stadium renovation that began in the summer of 2012. In the first phase, earth embankments accommodating approximately 10,000 standing spectators were demolished. This phase introduced a new eastern stand with a capacity of over 5,000 seats and supporting infrastructure, including facilities on the eastern side and a main entrance on the southern side of the building. This stage was completed in May 2013. After a break in 2014, construction resumed with the addition of similar sections in the northern and southern curves of the stadium.
