Flamengo unveils detailed financing plan
The agreement outlines that the club will secure funding for its new stadium through a building rights transfer mechanism within a consortium. Flamengo expects to raise around 500 million R$ from Additional Construction Potential Certificates (Cepac). A crucial element of the financing will also be the renegotiation of the land's construction potential, which, according to Flamengo's president, Rodolfo Landim, will bring the club revenue of about 1 billion R$.
The stadium is designed to hold 80,000 spectators. The total cost of the investment, estimated at 1.93 billion R$, includes land acquisition, geodetic surveys, earthworks, foundations, construction, installations, parking, roofing, turf, and urban development and landscape architecture. The project also involves installing LED screens with a total surface area of 6,200 m², including a 360° internal screen and a large external display.
During the presentation, the club’s management assured that the construction will not burden the club's finances. The project will be funded through newly generated revenue streams, expected to total 2.467 billion R$. Key revenue sources include the sale of stadium naming rights, valued at 1.5 billion R$ over 20 years; presale of 1,000 perpetual seats for 187 million R$; presale of 5,000 five-year seats for 183 million R$; presale of 28 luxury boxes for 100 million R$; and the construction potential of the Gávea property, estimated at 497 million R$.

What does the stadium project entail?
The first visuals of the project were created by Arena Events + Venues, a company specializing in the construction of stadiums and arenas. The final decision on the company responsible for the execution will be made through a competitive process. The design also includes a new general stand
with more affordable ticket prices. Fans will be much closer to the pitch than at the Maracanã, with one of the smallest distances between the stands and the field in Brazil.
The North Stand, home to the World’s Largest Crowd,
is designed to offer exceptional acoustics, increasing sound intensity on the field by 16 decibels compared to other stadiums. The facility will be 60 meters tall, making it higher than the Maracanã, and its infrastructure will include 27 elevators and 16 main internal access ramps.

A special gift for the club’s anniversary
The stadium is expected to be completed by November 15, 2029, coinciding with the club's anniversary. While the management does not rule out the possibility of opening the stadium earlier, they emphasize that it’s difficult to guarantee such a scenario at this stage. Flamengo plans to begin selling tickets for the opening match next year.
