Needed renovation

Accra Sports Stadium is a venue that has been serving football fans for years, but it is also known for its infrastructure deteriorating very quickly. Over time, however, it is in need of a major upgrade to meet the demands of international sports federations. As reported by ghanasoccernet.com, the National Sports Authority (NSA) has allocated as much as GH¢200,000 to renovate the stadium, with a view to restoring it to its former glory.

GH¢200 000 is about €11 500, which is not high money for upgrades. People are also looking for activity that they don't have to put a lot of funds into. When looking for a betting offer, fans often choose Sportzino no deposit bonus, where players can choose from a great range of casino-style games or attractive welcome bonuses.

The refurbishment work has covered a number of important elements of the stadium's infrastructure. Funds were used for fertilisers, soil upgrades, increased manpower and the installation of specialised irrigation systems. These measures were designed to improve the condition of the turf, but also to ensure its long-term sustainability.

The experts from Green Grass Technology, who were involved in this project, worked assiduously to make the best use of the available resources and take care of all the details. They even decided to have temporary accommodation on site, in order to keep an eye on the progress of the work and bring the pitch up to Confederation of African Football (CAF) requirements as quickly as possible.

Upgrading space for players and supporters

As part of the renovation work, special attention has also been given to upgrading the stadium's internal infrastructure, which will help to improve comfort. A video released by the Ministry of Sport shows that the stadium washrooms have been equipped with new, modern facilities.

In addition, the changing rooms have been provided with new lockers and comfortable seating for players. This will provide the players with a space that allows them to recover and prepare for the match in hygienic, comfortable conditions. Most of the new items in the stadium are of high quality, which is a testament to the professional approach to modernisation and efforts.

CAF approval

The renovation of the Accra stadium did not go unnoticed by the Confederation of African Football. CAF has approved the stadium as the venue for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, in which Ghana will face Sudan.

According to a member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association, Randy Abbey, CAF has given Ghana conditional approval to host the match. However, after the match against Sudan, there will be a re-inspection of the facility, to decide if it meets all the requirements to host the next matches to be played at the stadium in November.

CAF officials carried out a three-day inspection of the stadium, assessing both the condition of the pitch and the technical facilities. The renovation work was aimed at addressing any comments made during previous inspections and making the stadium ready to host matches. The stadium, following extensive refurbishment by the National Sports Authority, aspires to achieve CAF Category 3.
