“I feel sick looking at how high it is. I wonder if they’ll have binoculars.”
This is just one of the comments from fans who are bluntly criticizing the appearance of Everton Stadium. However, some are calling it the nicest stadium in the Championship, referring to Everton’s position in the Premier League table. There are also voices saying the stadium looks bland, as if generated by artificial intelligence. It just looks like another typical stadium, like Leicester, Reading, or Southampton. Only Spurs have built a stadium with any character in recent times,
reads one comment.
On the other hand, many fans disagree with such negative opinions, enjoying the sight of the new facility. Indeed, judging Everton Stadium impartially, it differs from other stadiums in the league, especially from the outside. Regardless of which competition The Toffees play in next season, their stadium will be one of the most original looking venues in the entire country.
Meanwhile, behind these discussions, another milestone has been reached at the construction site. Large screens installed at both ends of the pitch have been tested and are now ready for use. The club published photos showing the screens being tested with graphics displaying a goal for Everton and the message UTT
(Up The Toffees). The new stadium has two screens, each measuring 32 x 9 meters, produced by ADI.
A tribute to fans and club legends: Fan Wall is being built
Everton’s new stadium will feature a commemorative Fan Wall, honoring popular figures from the club’s past and present. Thousands of fans will also have the chance to be part of the club’s new home by submitting a photo to be displayed on the wall. After the success of the Everton Way
initiative, which gave fans the chance to place personalized stones in front of the South Stand of the soon-to-be-opened stadium, a mosaic made up entirely of fan photos will be placed on the western side facing the river. The cost of placing a photo on the Fan Wall is £45.
Additionally, the section The Originals
aims to honor Everton players who achieved great success representing the club, as well as those who embodied the true spirit of Everton both on and off the pitch. The first lineup of The Originals
will include Dixie Dean, the club’s top scorer, the Holy Trinity: Alan Ball, Howard Kendall, and Colin Harvey, as well as the last of the Corinthians,
the great Brian Labone. In future seasons, fans will have the chance to participate in selecting more players to join The Originals
Wall.
Everton consults with fans about relocation
Everton representatives met with the Fans’ Advisory Board, the Fans’ Forum, and the UK Supporters Club Committee to discuss plans for how season ticket holders will select their seats at the new stadium. Groups were also invited to ask questions regarding the move, and the feedback received will be used in communications, including a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) list and direct communication with season ticket holders and fans on the waiting list.
Everton announced that in the coming weeks, a campaign will launch to provide detailed information about the season ticket migration and the process for purchasing tickets at the new stadium.
