Competing with the world's best stadiums

Currently, the works include the installation of a new giant LED screen, which will be placed above the Sívori stand. The project is expected to be completed before the Copa Libertadores final on November 30. Recently, the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) announced on social media that this decisive match will be held at Mâs Monumental.

The new screen, which will impress fans with its quality and size, is another major step for the club, filling us with pride and joy, said Di Carlo. Like the other innovations, this contributes to the modernization of Mâs Monumental, positioning it among the best stadiums in the world. The new screen will be 150% larger than the previous one, measuring 25.6 meters wide and 14.4 meters tall (the previous one measured 20 x 7.22 meters). It will also provide high-resolution imagery at 2560 x 1440 pixels.

One of the common challenges stadiums face is managing natural light. To address this, the new screen will have a brightness of 6500 nits, ensuring visibility even on sunny days. Additionally, with a refresh rate of 3840 Hz, the screen will display smooth, uninterrupted visuals. The screen modules will be mounted on a sturdy structure to ensure durability.

Work on several fronts

Another major update at River Plate’s stadium, nearing completion, is the unification of the stands under the Monumental 360° project. Work is ongoing to connect the four high stands. The connection between San Martín and Centenario Alta is almost finished—only the upper and lower retaining walls need to be concreted and seats installed. The connection between Belgrano/Centenario and Belgrano/Sívori is also progressing, though not yet fully completed, as with the San Martín/Sívori connection. Upon completion of work on each connection, approximately 380 new seats will be available.

Additionally, work continues on the foundations for a new three-level parking structure, which will be connected to the stadium and provide direct access to the stands. Progress is also being made on the exterior facade of Mâs Monumental, which will maintain the club's traditional colors, as well as renovations to the nearby sports hall.
