Waiting for Santiago Bernabéu

In recent months, various tests have been carried out on the façade to find the best way to highlight the name of the legendary Santiago Bernabéu and the Real Madrid crest alongside it. These tests included the temporary placement of the crest and various models of illuminated letters, seeking the perfect combination that both pays homage to the club’s history and fits into the modern design of the new stadium. The tests showcased different shades and types of lighting, sparking anticipation among fans eager to finally see the name of the iconic president shining on the renovated stadium’s façade.

The western façade of Bernabéu, facing the famous Paseo de la Castellana, has been one of the most innovative elements of the renovation. The metal envelope covering the stadium is made of state-of-the-art stainless steel, a material that not only provides an avant-garde look but also allows for the projection of images and light shows on its surface. This finish, which also reduces sun glare to avoid inconveniences for pedestrians and neighboring buildings, has transformed Bernabéu into an architectural jewel that shines both day and night.

Final touches in progress

Another highly anticipated addition, which is still underway, is the installation of the second LED ring inside the stadium – an element that was not originally included in the project but was added by the club to improve visibility and entertainment for spectators. This ring will surround the upper perimeter of the stadium, allowing for better display of information and replays during matches.
