Italy: Improvements and pub inside San Siro Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, one of the most iconic venues, is increasingly striving to match modern standards in the football world. The pub, which was inaugurated during Inter's match against Atalanta, is one of the many innovations in store for the 2024/2025 season.

The opening of a sports pub inside San Siro is an unprecedented novelty on the Italian football scene. In countries such as England, where Premier League stadiums have long offered fans this type of facility, the idea is already well established. The Italians, however, are only now beginning to discover its potential. The pub at the San Siro will be open not only during Inter and Milan's home matches, but also during away matches, broadcast live. It is a venue that is set to become a meeting and integration centre for fans, regardless of whether there is a match at the stadium or not.

The opening of the pub is just one element of the extensive modernisation of the San Siro. In the summer of 2024, the stadium underwent extensive changes. Two new maxi-screens, installed on the towers of the orange sector, are just one of the innovations designed to attract the attention of fans and sponsors. These screens offer a high-definition image, which significantly improves the quality of the broadcast and the visibility of advertising.

Other improvements include the upgrade of the tunnel through which the teams enter the pitch. New screens and lighting create a spectacular effect that emphasises the players' entrance onto the pitch. Changes have also affected the red and orange stands, where more than two thousand new seats have been installed and VIP seating has been refurbished.

The new upgrades are part of the preparations for upcoming events such as the opening ceremony of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. Unfortunately, among them will not be the 2027 Champions League final, which will go to Rome, according to Italian media.

Modern technology is playing a key role in transforming San Siro into a stadium for the 21st century. The introduction of digital platforms that allow people to order food and drinks directly from their seats, view real-time statistics or take part in surveys or quizzes are just some of the innovations introduced at the stadium.

In addition, San Siro places a strong emphasis on sustainability. The introduction of energy-saving solutions and the use of recycled materials in new constructions are just some of the measures that aim to minimise the stadium's environmental impact.
