New dimension in stadium safety

RB Leipzig, has long recognised the importance of ensuring the safety and comfort of all who visit the stadium. In 2023, the Your Gaze Counts campaign was launched to raise awareness among fans and encourage them to proactively respond to any inappropriate behaviour. In response to the positive reception to the campaign, the club decided to further strengthen and expand it.

From the outset, the Your gaze counts campaign has focused on promoting the values that underpin RB Leipzig. It calls on fans to respond to any inappropriate behaviour they may witness during matches at Red Bull Arena, club events or away trips. The club has made it clear that any manifestation of xenophobia, racism, violence, homophobia, transhomophobia, discrimination, sexual harassment, anti-Semitism, political extremism - whether from the left or the right - is unacceptable and a violation of the RB Leipzig code of values.

Furthermore, the campaign is not limited to football match itself. Reports of violations can already be submitted two hours before the match and one hour after the match. This is intended to cover not only the sporting event itself, but also the space around the stadium as fans arrive and leave the venue.

New tools for reporting violations

To make it easier to report any incidents, RB Leipzig has introduced modern communication tools. Fans can now use an online form that can be filled in both anonymously and personalised. Accessing the form is simple and convenient - relevant links and QR codes have been placed in prominent locations around the stadium, making it quick and easy to submit a report.

The number of staff responsible for responding to requests has also been increased. Now, during match days, there are four staff members in the stadium who are available to fans throughout the event. Their task is not only to receive reports, but also to provide support to those affected by inappropriate behaviour.

Safe space in stadium

RB Leipzig has gone one step further by creating a special Safe Space in the stadium. Located in sector C behind blocks 33/34, it provides a point of contact for fans who want to report violations or simply need a moment of respite. The booth, which has been suitably equipped, provides seating, water, snacks and a partition wall for intimacy and comfortable conversation.

The staff in charge of the Safe Space have a landline telephone and a radio, which allows them to be in constant contact with the stadium's security centre. This enables them to respond quickly to reports and coordinate safety measures.
