Meeting the highest standards
Last month, architectural firm Populous revealed the renderings for Aramco Stadium and the surrounding master plan in Al-Khobar. The stadium will cover an area of nearly 800,000 m² and will have a capacity of approximately 47,000 spectators.
Additionally, the stadium complex will include an energy center responsible for energy supply and cooling, as well as improved roads and landscaping. The goal is to follow best practices in inclusive design and obtain Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for sustainability. The stadium will fully comply with FIFA requirements, allowing it to host World Cup matches up to the quarter-finals.

AFC 2027 and the WC 2034?
The completion of the stadium is aligned with the schedule of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup, which will take place in 2027. The Aramco Stadium is also on the official list of potential venues for the 2034 World Cup, as published in Saudi Arabia’s bid book on July 31.
BESIX Middle East CEO, Peter Lembrechts, said: Our strategic entry into the Saudi Arabian market is based on BESIX's exceptional engineering capabilities, which we have repeatedly demonstrated through the successful execution of complex design-and-build projects across the region.
