More seats

The stands in Zaidín will reach a capacity of 21,496 seats due to the closing of the corners for the next season using portable stands. According to official data, 17,100 of these seats are taken by season ticket holders, leaving just over 4,300 seats available for other fans. As in previous seasons, one of the corners will be allocated for visiting fans. In previous campaigns, the away section was located in the northern corner, between the Tribuna and Fondo Norte stands.

The capacity of Nuevo Los Cármenes places it exactly in the middle of the seating rankings at this level of competition, though only four of them exceed 30,000 seats. This includes Riazor, the largest in the second division, with a capacity of 32,430 seats; followed by Martínez Valero, Carlos Tartiere, and La Rosaleda.

Complicated bureaucracy

Despite this, many fans complain about the state of the stadium, and the temporary work seems insufficient. The situation is concerning for the City Council, which owns the stadium and is discreetly working on a solution to the problem. According to COPE, the municipal authorities want to carry out the necessary work to improve the situation. The club has financial resources from CVC funds, which are intended for improving football facilities. While this money will be used for work at Ciudad Deportiva, to use it for improvements at Nuevo Los Cármenes, a medium-term transfer from the City Council to the club is necessary. Two attempts were made to carry out this operation using documents that Granada CF did not have access to.

The situation is further complicated by Granada's potential sale, which hinders the flow of funds. Additionally, one of the companies linked to the property is currently under judicial administration in Switzerland. Nevertheless, the City Council wants to take action, and an attempt to unlock the situation will be initiated before the end of the year. The municipal authorities' desire is to take the lead in this matter, allowing the entity in Granada to invest in the modernization of the stadium.
