End of speculation

El Alcoraz, has finally been granted an environmental licence, ending a lengthy process that could have endangered the club's operations. The mayor of Huesca, Lorena Orduna, expressed her joy at this achievement, stressing that with this decision the city can congratulate itself.

The Olympic Games have just started, but they will not interest as many football fans as the Euros. League games in middle Europe are about to begin, but you will have to wait a little longer for the most awaited ones, like LaLiga. However, when it comes to 50 pesos deposit casinos, you don’t have to wait. Especially when the site offers the best bonuses and simple payments.

The process of obtaining the licence involved a number of challenges, which could even have led to the closure of the stadium for matches. The final granting of the licence by the Aragonese Institute of Environmental Management (Inaga) ended any doubts about the legality of the stadium's continued use.

El Alcoraz, as a key part of Huesca's sporting infrastructure, has been the subject of intense debate, and the lack of an environmental licence could lead to serious consequences for the club, including loss of points and potential relegation. The mayor of Orduna, who is a fan of the team, stressed that her government team had done everything possible to ensure that the team could continue playing in their stadium.

The process of obtaining a licence began with the issuing of a positive report by the City Council in February this year, which allowed formal procedures to begin. The dossier was finally forwarded to Inaga, who, after reviewing it, gave their approval for the licence to be granted. This means that SD Huesca can continue their games at El Alcoraz without obstacles, which is crucial for their sporting future.

History of Aragón stadium

Estadio El Alcoraz, located in the city of Huesca, is the football stadium that is home to the SD Huesca club. The stadium was named after the historic Battle of Alcoraz, which took place in 1096. Its designer was the architect Raimundo Bambó and the construction was initiated by the club's president at the time, José Maria Mur. The construction of the stadium, which took four years, cost around 15 million pesetas, equivalent to today's €90,000.

The stadium opened on January 16, 1972, when SD Huesca played its inaugural match against Deportivo Aragón. During the difficult 1980s, when the club was facing serious financial problems, the stadium was put up for auction. Thanks to the efforts of around 200 managers and supporters, who formed a special association, the facility was recovered, saving it from a bank takeover.

Throughout its history, El Alcoraz has witnessed many important sporting events. In 1990, it hosted a Copa del Rey match between SD Huesca and Cádiz CF, which ended in a 0:0 draw, followed by Cádiz CF's victory on penalty kicks in the second match. In 2003, the stadium hosted a meeting of the Spanish Under-21 national team against Greece, which ended with a 2:0 score for the Spaniards.

With SD Huesca's promotion to the Segunda División in the 2008/2009 season, the stadium underwent significant upgrades. The stands were extended, a new roof was built, the presidential box, changing rooms, offices and VIP areas were rebuilt. Further modernisation work took place after Huesca's promotion to La Liga in 2018, when the stadium was enlarged to a capacity of 7638 seats. The redevelopment included not only the stands, but also the press area, mixed zone, toilets, bars and car park, which significantly raised the standard of the venue, bringing it up to the requirements of Spain's top competition.
