Uncertain future of the stadium for NK Bravo

Slovenian football club Bravo is slowly saying goodbye to the stadium where it has played since its inception. It is soon to return to Šiška, although it is not yet clear exactly when this will happen. Športni park Ljubljana, which has aged considerably, will be demolished and a modern sports centre will be built in its place. It will mainly be used by athletes, but there will also be space for Bravo footballers, who will temporarily play at the stadium in Stožice, where Olimpija also plays its matches.

In addition to supporting their team in the stadiums, fans are also interested in betting on matches in Slovenia, using bet365 and the bonuses associated with the offer.

For the time being, it is unclear when exactly construction work will start - at best towards the end of this year, at worse in early 2025. It is also unclear when the construction will be completed. However, the daily Dnevnik revealed that construction costs have risen dramatically since 2016, when the idea of a new centre was first mooted. At the time, they were estimated at €14 million; now, according to 'Dnevnik', they are already over €94 million!

As the Municipality of Ljubljana (MOL) explained, the project was evolving in terms of both content and finances. Initially, only the renovation and modernisation of the stadium was planned, but in the end it was decided to completely rebuild. The future home of Bravo will hold 4777 spectators, and an underground storey with parking spaces is also planned under the auxiliary athletics stadium.

Temporary stadium - the largest in the country

Stadion Stožice is a multi-purpose stadium located in Ljubljana. It was designed by Slovenian architects Sadar + Vuga and is the largest football stadium in the country. It is one of the two main stadiums in the city and is located in the Bežigrad district, north of the city centre. The stadium is part of the Stožice Sports Park sports complex.

The stadium is mainly used for football and is the home ground of the Olimpija Ljubljana football club. In addition, the stadium is also the venue for the Slovenian national football team and hosted 51 matches of the national team as of 31 July 2024. In 2021, the stadium was one of the eight hosts of the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship and also hosted the final between Germany and Portugal.
