Talks are underway
There have long been regulations allowing for the potential expansion of Emirates Stadium, provided council approval is obtained. So far, the stadium has proven to be an ideal home for the Gunners. With a capacity of 60,704 seats, Emirates is the fifth-largest stadium in the Premier League, behind Old Trafford, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London Stadium, and Anfield. However, its capacity has not been significantly increased since its inauguration.
Initially, fans criticized Emirates for lacking soul, but the club has made efforts to make the stadium feel more homely.
Current manager Mikel Arteta has also been credited with helping to restore the bond between the team and the fans.
In an interview with ESPN, Josh Kroenke revealed that the club is considering various options, stating: It would be premature to discuss any plans in detail, but internal discussions on this matter have already begun.
Increasing the capacity of Emirates Stadium will not be an easy task, as its current capacity is largely limited by the surrounding area. Perhaps a more realistic change would be moving the stands a little closer to the pitch.
