LG Electronics is once again entering into a partnership with Atlético de Madrid. Thanks to this collaboration, Cívitas Metropolitano stadium will undergo an upgrade that will include the installation of modern LED technology. One of the elements will be similar to the 360° screen of their local rival.

Continued cooperation
The ambitious project at Civitas Metropolitano includes the installation of more than 2,000 square metres of customised, tailor-made LED screens that will provide spectators with the highest image quality and an incredible audiovisual experience.
This is not LG's first collaboration with Atlético de Madrid. The current upgrade is a continuation of the 2017 collaboration, when LG was responsible for the installation of video scoreboards and a ribbon surrounding the entire stadium in its central area, as well as a number of screens distributed throughout the stands, both in the VIP areas and for regular fans.

Modern solutions
There are two main elements in the modernisation project. The first and most important is the section with the enigmatic name Sky Ribbon. This is the heart of the project - an elliptical LED screen with a brightness of 7,500 nits (a minimum of 1,000 nits is needed for viewing in bright, direct sunlight), covering the roof of the stadium and providing a 360-degree visual effect. The second component is the outdoor LED screens: four circular screens at the stadium entrances and a 45 square metre LED screen above entrance 34.
All LED screens have a refresh rate of 3840 Hz, eliminating flicker in the TV broadcasts and ensuring a smooth image. In addition, redundancy controllers guarantee uninterrupted operation of the screens.

In addition to the technological upgrade, LG has become an official sponsor of Los Rojiblancos. It is an honour to work with Atlético de Madrid again. Our LED technology and attention to detail will ensure an unforgettable experience for all visitors to the stadium
said Jaime de Jaraíz, CEO of LG Spain.
LG is the best possible partner to enhance the audiovisual experience of all spectators who come to the Cívitas Metropolitano,
said Óscar Mayo, general manager of revenue and operations of Club Atlético de Madrid. He added that the new investment will make the stadium a technological reference point.
