Germany: Adele Arena to be built in Munich. Adele will perform in Munich in August. A stadium is being specially constructed in the city for her to host a total of 10 concerts. At a press conference, details of the Munich pop-up stadium were presented, revealing that it will accommodate 80,000 spectators.

Megastadium for 10 concerts

The stage structure will cover 4,000 m², and the catwalk between the main stage and a smaller stage in the center of the standing audience will be 93 meters long. A 220-meter-wide and 30-meter-high LED screen will be installed. It will likely be the largest and most expensive screen ever produced for a concert, costing €40 million. The stage construction involves 700 workers. The entire setup is designed to resemble a concert shell, reminiscent of venues in Las Vegas.

The megastadium project also includes the so-called Adele World, designed with input from the artist herself. Guests will be able to enjoy Adele's favorite drink. A replica pub will create an authentic British atmosphere, mirroring the pub where Adele signed her first record contract.

Prepared for any eventuality

What will happen if the unpredictable summer weather disrupts the organizers' plans? We'll play rain or shine, says Lieberberg. However, if severe storms occur, fans will be able to take shelter in nearby exhibition buildings.

75,000 m² of asphalt has been laid for the concerts, explains Lieberberg. This is to prevent mud and other unpleasant consequences of potential bad weather.

Huge revenues for the city

This is the most expensive project of all time. It is the most elaborate project in my 50 years in the music industry, said Marek Lieberberg, managing director of Live Nation, to journalists. The cost of the stadium construction has not been disclosed, but a city spokesperson said the event is expected to generate over €500 million in revenue for the Bavarian capital. Adele will perform 10 concerts in Munich, which will be attended by approximately 750,000 people. Currently, 95% of the tickets are sold out.
