The modernization of Everton Stadium is well underway. The entire facility is now powered up, with all networking infrastructure services operational. Interior work is progressing rapidly, with suspended ceilings being installed and all catering and concession equipment being set up.

Seat installation is ongoing

Internal efforts are primarily focused on the seating areas and pitch surface. Handrails for seats will soon be installed. Seat installation is progressing rapidly, nearing 40,000, with the first delivery of handrails already reaching Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton's stadium will feature seating with handrails throughout the lower tier of the south stand for home fans, as well as in the lower section of the pitch in the northeast corner. In other areas, all P-shaped handrails have been installed at entry staircases, while most glass balustrades are placed at sector entrances.

Work continues on the installation of channels around the pitch for critical infrastructure, including turf heating, underground drainage, irrigation pipes, and TV broadcast cables.

Roofing work is also underway

Externally, roof covering work has commenced on the southern end of the east stand, while complex-shaped elements have been mounted at the northern end. The roofing of the highest level on the west stand is nearly complete, and a vast covering, measuring 172 meters, will soon be laid over the extensive south stand from a specially adapted shipping container.

The expansive west terrace, facing the River Mersey, looks impressive – concrete work has been completed, waterproof membranes laid, and drainage layers excavated at the southern end. Paving and walkways along the River Mersey wall complement this spectacular viewpoint for fans.

Preserving cultural heritage with care

All three steel gates are now in place and will be skillfully integrated back into the wall using existing bricks. Skilled craftsmen from Vetter, a stone processing specialist within the Laing O'Rourke group of companies, continue to meticulously pave the 30,000 square meters fan plaza, which will serve as a spacious entrance to the stadium. As the former access road crossing the plaza is now unnecessary, foundations are being laid for the installation of historic railway lines.

We are installing renovated railway tracks, which is an important part of our cultural heritage preservation program. So far, we have installed approximately 1800 meters, resembling a vast puzzle made up of very challenging and heavy elements. We use machines for laying them, but the entire effort speaks to the skills of our workers, said Dave Ruddy, project manager at Laing O'Rourke, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
