USA: USF releases first stadium renderings The University of South Florida (USF) has unveiled the first renderings of its planned new stadium, which will be home to the USF Bulls college football team. The stadium was originally slated to open in the fall of 2026, but the date has been pushed back.

New venue for the Bulls

In June, the USF board of trustees approved a funding plan for a new facility. The stadium will be home to the USF Bulls American football team, which currently plays at Raymond James Stadium owned by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It often happens that students who play football in college do not have enough time to study. Fortunately, there is a way out, and students can get help with college essay writing online, so they will have more time for football.

The university has just published the first initial renderings of the new facility. USF said the images are conceptual and will evolve as the design process continues and more detailed elements are finalised. In addition to the renderings, USF confirmed some new details about the stadium.

The facility will have a 35,000-seat capacity and feature an east-west design to maximise shade during daytime events, a dedicated student section on the west side, an open lobby around the majority of the facility, a large tailgating area on the north side and a variety of premium seating options, including suites, boxes and club areas.

USF released the renderings after reports surfaced earlier in the week that the university had terminated its contract with construction company Barton Malow for the project. USF was also working with Populous on the design of the facility.

When will the new stadium for the USF Bulls open?

The stadium was originally slated to open in the fall of 2026, but USF said this has been pushed back a year due to global supply chain issues and now the date has been moved to autumn 2027. The university also announced a $6 million donation from USF Federal Credit Union to name the walkway that will lead to the main entrance of the new stadium and will serve as home to the Bulls Stampede team's traditional pre-game walk from the buses to the stadium.

USF has so far raised more than $43 million of the $50 million earmarked for the stadium project. The total estimated cost of the stadium is $340 million. More detailed renderings of the stadium will be released in spring 2024, with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for next autumn.
