All three countries already have experience in hosting major football events. Let us recall that Spain hosted the memorable 1982 World Cup, in which Italy defetaed Germany in the final. Fifteen Spanish arenas are in contention to host the World Cup, of which 11 will ultimately be selected, including truly legendary stadiums such as Barcelona's Camp Nou and Real Madrid's home venue, Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, as well as the modern San Mamés Barria in Bilbao and Estadio Metropolitano in the capital.
Portugal hosted the 2004 football Euros and relied on the 3 stadiums that were built for the occasion. These are the two arenas in Lisbon, Estádio da Luz and Estádio Jose Alvalade XXI, and FC Porto's home venue, Estádio do Dragão. All of these stadiums, despite being older, still look very modern.
The candidature of the Iberian nations was officially joined by Ukraine last year. At present, it is not yet known which stadiums from this country could potentially host the 2030 World Cup. Ukraine, together with Poland, organised Euro 2012, hence there is no shortage of modern arenas there. These include NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kiev, Metalist Stadium in Kharkiv and Arena Lviv. Let's hope the ongoing war ends as soon as possible and that the Ukrainians can enjoy peace and perhaps the World Cup in 2030!
