It was surely an adventure for many kids yesterday as visiting supporters showered them with cuddly toys. The overwhelmingly positive action went viral instantly.

Long before yesterday’s Feyenoord – ADO game in Rotterdam it was clear that children from the Queen Sophia Children’s Hospital would be present at De Kuip. More importantly: they were seated just below the away section, filled by supporters from the Hague.
They were made aware in advance of Feyenoord’s initiative (kids were also there to meet with players) and the away contingent knew what to do. Yesterday afternoon ADO fans arrived in clown attire and in the 12th minute showered the children with soft and cuddly toys.
As one would expect, the action was greeted with great enthusiasm by home supporters. Even the police applauded the activity, though it’s formally prohibited. To some extent ADO fans even overshadowed Feyenoord’s own charitable initiative as videos and images of the fan action went viral worldwide within hours. And we couldn’t miss out on showing you this to brighten up a Monday morning!
