Within the next two years we may see a significant change around Borussia Park. Borussia are about to spend €28 on new a hotel, which will bring the number of events up from 450 to 750 annually.

Borussia Mönchengladbach revealed their infrastructural plans for the next couple of years. The club will launch their own 4-star hotel beside Borussia Park. The project is priced at €28 million ($31m) and should be ready in 18 months.

Designed by SOP-Architekten, the building will have 6 floors and 132 rooms, none smaller than 24.5 square meters. As you can see in the renderings below, rooms will have a very interesting football décor with Borussia’s history honoured in the rooms.

The building will surely get very lively around matchdays, but it’s not only about the 20 large events per year. Already now Borussia Park is among the region’s most significant hosts for conference and banqueting, welcoming some 450 events annually. With the new hotel, this number should grow to 750.

The building will also bring changes to regular match-goers. New club museum and fan shop will be created here. Also, a medical center is part of the scheme.

Before Borussia open their largest project since the stadium’s opening back in 2004, some more changes should be expected. A covered beer garden is planned behind the north stand and additional 800 VIP seats will be created in the western main grandstand.
