Exactly on Friday, August 28 (11:00am) the groundbreaking at FCS-Park will take place. The ceremony in Schaffhausen will mark nearly a decade of attempts by FC Schaffhausen president Aniello Fontana.
He began when FCS were in the Super League, but despite the team’s relegation in 2007 the idea of brand new private stadium wasn’t scrapped. After prolonging preparations, several times deadlocked by referendums or lack of commercial partners, this time the project will finally go on.
We wrote more about the design itself last year, when it was also expected to break ground. That didn’t work, but investor took the opportunity and enhanced the design, as seen below.
Now, again accompanied by extensive commercial developments, the CHF 60 million project is about to begin growing. Delivery is expected in 2017, when FC Schaffhausen will enjoy over 8,000 capacity.
