On Tuesday AS Roma suffered an unprecedented 1-7 defeat to FC Bayern. And to add to that, stadium trouble arrived the very next day. On Wednesday it came out that Roma will not be able to break ground on their new stadium in early 2015.
On Wednesday Rome’s planning authorities held a significant meeting, during which they were expected to vote and approve the scheme which would bring a 52,500-seater to Tor di Valle in the south. The officials failed to grant the permission.
Lack of green light means groundbreaking in early 2015 is now nearly impossible and as a consequence so is the delivery date of 2017.
