Works were launched in March, are due to end in early June. The new home of Sacramento Republic FC will offer much… less seats than needed, but will be a very cheap one as well.

Gorundbreaking ceremony in north-eastern Sacramento took place in mid-March. By June 7 the new stadium will already be delivered, offering 8,000 capacity, floodlights and all amenities necessary for holding USL Pro games.
Though the expected first game of Sacramento Republic FC (on June 7) had to be relocated to the currently used Hughes Stadium, it’s still extremely impressive to see a project like this delivered so fast. Not only that, it’s also very cheap. The budget of $3 million was split between Ovations Food Service, the Republic and Cal Expo, where the stadium is being built.
Simple steel prefabricates will serve Sacramento Republic for the next few years as the club hopes to make their way to the MLS somewhere around 2016. Already now the club’s popularity exceeds expectations and suggests a bigger stadium is necessary in the long run. First two games of this season saw a turnout of 20,231 and 17,414 respectively.
