The Nepalese people have already felt the congestion in Dasarath Rangashala as more fans can’t cut it within the 18,000 available seats. In the same time, Nepal government plans to build new stadium with over double the capacity of Dasarath Rangashala.
The new 40,000-seat national stadium is planned in Kathmandu, but not replacing its predecessor. A new plot is to be selected within weeks and the government already has prepared 50 million rupee (some €375,000) for land purchase.
The new stadium is still subject to approval by Nepalese parliament.
