Algeria: Two fans dead and national stadium closed after fatal accident

Saturday night saw the great derby of Alger take place at Algeria's national stadium, Stade 5 Juillet. With 10 minutes of the game left concrete prefab under two fans gave way, causing them to fall several meters down.
Both young men died, one of head injury while the other from massive internal bleeding. What raised controversy, TV reporters were on site just seconds after the stand collapsed, showing live images from the site, including close-ups of both victims' faces.
Authorities decided on Sunday that the stadium has to be closed to prevent similar accidents in the future. Thorough analysis of what caused the tragedy is to be done. Dilapidated structure and overcrowding in this specific section were indicated as possible causes.
