The amazing idea for new stadium at the heart of New York covered the internet with various comments. It may not be on the table at this point, but it’s still worth looking into, for sure!

Currently Manhattan’s west side has one of the world’s most unique football fields. Pier 40, a parking facility, has football-specific pitch at its heart.

That unusual location was to be a potential site of NY City FC’s new stadium, as it was leaked before the weekend through an unknown source. The club, a daughter-company of Manchester City FC, admitted Pier 40 was analysed as potential location of the new 25,000-seater in New York back in 2012.

It is understood, however, that despite the Queens Flushing Meadows scheme not being secured at this point, Pier 40 isn’t on the table at this point. Still, the plans of football stands overlooking the Manhattan skyline are well worth looking at.
