Plans submitted for Bristol City FC's £40m redevelopment of Ashton Gate stadium could be approved by October, according to BBC. Will this project be more lucky than Ashton Vale?

With their previous vision to relocate to Ashton Vale stuck among protests and already making City owners regret they even started it, now a new planning application is in place, this time for complex revamp of the current Ashton Gate stadium.
Bristol Sports Limited, owners of both Bristol City and Bristol Rugby Club, are hopeful of getting through the planning permission phase by October and start works as soon as early 2014, making mid-2016 a reachable deadline.
The plan envisages four phases, each with a different stand in its scope, altogether increasing capacity to even 26,000 and worth £40m.
The proposal, following a public consultation exercise last month, also includes enhanced disabled facilities, improved public transport links and the addition of rail seating.
